What bubble text is

Bubble text here means letters inside circles and squares, taken from Unicode’s enclosed letters. Each letter is a single character, so the bubbles stay with the text when you paste it. White circles are the most widely supported. Black circles and squares are newer, and some older devices show them as empty boxes.

White circles cover the letters A to Z and the digits 0 to 9. Black circles, squares and black squares cover letters only, so numbers stay as typed in those styles. Accents and other alphabets are not covered in any of them.

Text to paste, not letters to print

Bubble letters can also mean the puffy, outlined letters people draw, print or color in. This tool does not make those. It makes bubble text you can paste into a bio, a caption or a chat. To put words on a photo, use Add text.

Where bubble text works

Bubbles are wide, so a long sentence takes several lines and is slow to read. Screen readers may spell the letters out or skip them, so keep links and anything people search for in plain letters. Bubble text works well in:

  • Bios, names and captions on Instagram and TikTok.
  • Display names and messages on Discord.
  • A short label or heading in a post on an app with no formatting.
  • One word to stand out in a chat.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between white and black bubble letters?

White bubbles are outlines: a letter inside an open circle. Black bubbles are filled circles with the letter cut out. Both work as text, but the black ones come from newer Unicode and cover only letters.

Why do my bubble letters show as boxes?

The device reading the text has no character for that symbol. White circles show on almost every phone and computer, while black circles and squares are newer and older systems can miss them. Use white circles if your readers may have older devices.

Do bubble letters work on Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. Paste them into a bio, a name or a caption. Usernames on both apps accept only plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods, so keep your username plain.

Can I get bubble numbers too?

White circles include the digits 0 to 9. Black circles and squares have letters only, so numbers stay plain in those styles.

Can I print these bubble letters or color them in?

No. This tool makes text you paste into bios, captions and chats. It does not draw outlined letters to print or trace.

Is the bubble text generator free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no account and nothing to install. Your text is converted on your device and is never uploaded or saved, so you can try as many styles as you like.
