Curved text generator

Type your words and bend them into an arc or a full circle. Adjust the curve, font, size, color and letter spacing, then download the result as a transparent PNG or as an SVG.

Curved text

This tool needs JavaScript. Turn it on and reload the page to curve your own text.

How to use it

  1. Type your text

Write a word or a short phrase in the box. The preview changes as you type.

  2. Bend it

Move the curve slider right to arch the text up, or left to bend it down. Select Full circle to run the text all the way around.

  3. Style it

Pick a font and set the size, letter spacing and color. Switch the preview background between light, dark and checkered to see how it will look.

  4. Download

Select Download PNG for a picture with a transparent background, or Download SVG for a vector file.

Arcs and full circles

The curve slider sets how much of a circle the text covers. Moving it right arches the text over the top, like a rainbow. Moving it left bends the text along the bottom, like a smile. Halfway is a half circle, and all the way closes the ring.

Full circle runs the text around a complete circle and spreads the letters evenly so the ring closes. It starts at the top and runs clockwise. Set the slider below zero to run it the other way, along the bottom with the letters facing the middle. Short phrases work best, because a long line makes small letters on a small ring.

PNG or SVG

The PNG has a transparent background and is drawn at twice the size of the preview, so it stays sharp. Use it in slides, social posts, photo editors and design apps. The SVG is a vector file that scales to any size without blurring, which suits logos and print.

Every letter in the SVG is its own text element, placed at its own angle, so apps that cannot bend text along a path still show it correctly. An SVG names its font instead of containing it, so it uses the fonts on the device that opens it. If the font might be missing, send the PNG, or convert the text to outlines in your design app.

Where curved text works

Curved text is a classic way to fit words to a round or curved shape:

  • Badges, stickers and round logos, with a short phrase around the ring.
  • Mugs, T-shirts and tote bags, with a slogan arched above or below a picture.
  • Invitations and cards, with a name arched over a date.
  • Profile pictures and photo frames, with a label bent around the edge.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make text go around in a circle?

Select Full circle, type a short phrase and pick a font. The letters spread evenly around a complete circle, starting at the top. Move the curve slider below zero to run the text counterclockwise from the bottom, with the letters facing the middle.

Can I download curved text with a transparent background?

Yes. The PNG has a transparent background, and so does the SVG. The preview background switch only changes what you see on this page, so you can check how the text looks on light and dark colors.

What is the difference between PNG and SVG?

A PNG is a picture made of pixels, drawn here at twice the preview size. An SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size and opens in design apps. Use the PNG when you just want to place the text somewhere, and the SVG when you need to scale it.

Why does my SVG look different in another app?

An SVG names its font but does not contain it, so an app or device without that font shows a similar one instead. The PNG always looks like the preview. To keep the lettering in an SVG, convert the text to outlines in your design app, or choose a font the device is sure to have.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The curved text is made in your browser, and the PNG and SVG are created on your device. There is nothing to upload and no account to make.

Can I curve text on a photo?

This tool makes the curved text as its own picture, so place the downloaded PNG on a photo in any editor. To write new words into a photo so they look printed, painted or lit in the scene, use Add text to photo.
