edittext.ai

Usage policy

EditText.ai changes, translates and removes the text in images. This page explains what it may be used for, what it may not, and what happens when the rules are broken.

It is a plain-language guide, not a legal contract. It works alongside the Terms of Use, which apply if the two ever differ.

What you can use it for

EditText.ai is made for text you have the right to change. Good uses include:

  • Your own images and designs, such as posters, flyers, product photos, thumbnails and social graphics.
  • Images you have the rights or permission to edit.
  • Localization: translating the text in your own images for another language or market, such as app screenshots and product images.
  • Fixing typos and wrong words in your own finished work, including garbled lettering in AI-generated images.
  • Captions and date stamps on your own photos, such as the date a film camera printed on an old family picture.
  • Hiding personal details, such as names and email addresses, in your own screenshots before you share them.
  • Clearly fictional mockups and design work that do not mislead anyone.

What you cannot use it for

These uses are not allowed, whatever plan you are on:

  • Removing watermarks or logos, or taking out credits, attribution or copyright notices.
  • Changing another company’s logo or brand name.
  • Altering documents or records, such as receipts, invoices, IDs, passports, bank statements, certificates, tickets and pay stubs, including the dates, names and amounts on them.
  • Faking or altering chat, payment, banking, order or account screenshots, or any screenshot presented as proof of something that did not happen.
  • Translating, cleaning or copying manga or comic pages that you do not have the right to use.
  • Impersonating a person or an organization, or passing an edited image off as theirs.
  • Making deceptive edits meant to mislead, such as presenting an edited image as an unaltered photo, record or piece of evidence.
  • Uploading, creating or sharing anything illegal, or anything that harms or exploits other people.
  • Getting around limits, security or payment controls, or using several accounts to repeat the free edit.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the images you upload and for how you use and share the results. AI can misread text or change details near it, so check every result before you rely on it.

If the policy is broken

If this policy is broken, or we have good reason to think it is about to be, we may refuse a request, remove content, or limit, suspend or end access to EditText.ai. Where it is lawful and practical, we will explain why and let you ask for a review. If there is an urgent risk, we may act first.

If you see an image or a use of EditText.ai that breaks this policy, email support@edittext.ai. Say what you saw and where, and add a link or a screenshot if you have one. Please do not send illegal material; describe it instead.

The Contact page lists other reasons to write. We use reports to decide whether to act under this policy.
